About
Helping You Navigate Life’s Legal Journey
Kris Johnson, Attorney & Founder
Kris Johnson founded Journey Law with a clear goal: to make legal support feel personal, not intimidating. With a unique blend of real-world experience and legal expertise, Kris helps clients move forward, whether they’re planning ahead or navigating a loss.
Kris values relationships and results for her clients. Whether you are planning to leave a legacy or dealing with a difficult legal issue, Kris will help you navigate the journey. Perhaps most importantly, she actually calls you back.
She is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and Byron Center Chamber of Commerce. She has served on multiple community boards. Super Lawyer Magazine named Kris a Rising Star in 2025.
Prior to practicing law, Kris was a high school English and speech teacher, marketing manager for a division of HarperCollins, and an entrepreneur who created and successfully ran a marketing and event business in the publishing industry. She has been active in the community through her church, her children’s schools, and is a former soprano with the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus.
Kris enjoys music, friendships, and exploring new places with her husband and children.
